Grand Canyon and Pictures

We have finally arrived at the Grand Canyon and we will be here until Thursday morning. We arrived just in time to enter the Canyon and watch the sunset. I can't even begin to describe what it was like and what it felt like to experience it. We took a few pictures that you can see here. I finally figured out how to attach pics so here are some random pictures Lara and I have taken since I started chemo. These pictures include some of the idol contestants at their recent Indianapolis concert. These pictures are of Carly, me, Michael Johns, Dave Cook and Chikeze Easy backstage before the concert. Also included are Lara and I at the Hoover dam on our way to the Grand Canyon as well as pictures from tonights viewing of the sun setting and our first sighting of the canyon. Now that I can include pics I will try to share them on here a little more often and maybe a few more as our trip across the country progresses. I am sure we will have several pictures tomorrow from the canyon so maybe we will share more with you then.

If you have never been to the canyon then you haven't experienced all of God's wonders yet. I learned two things today from seeing the Grand Canyon. The Lord is much more powerful than I am and he is in total control. That makes my life much easier.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

First of all, you and your wife are very cute together. :] The grand canyon makes for a beautiful background, too.

And I love the hat! It's very fitting somehow.

The Idol pictures are great, too. It's so cool to see you guys together like that. Those burgers look pretty good, too.

I hope the rest of your trip is just as great! I was too young to really appreciate the canyon when I saw it, but I'm sure it's still wonderful.

Best wishes, and stay strong! You're doing great.

Wild guess here, but I'm going to say that you really like that hat? =P It's very cute. Maybe you should include it in every picture; even if you're not wearing it, just put it in the background somewhere. It can become "The Adventures of Luke Menard's Hat!"

But seriously, the pictures are great, and I really like the one of you and David Cook together. The ones of you and Lara are very cute, and it looks like a great trip. Enjoy it, you definitely deserve it! =D

Keep up with the positive thinking, and know we're all thinking of you! Lots of love to you and yours!

Isn't the Grand Canyon gorgeous? I remember when I saw it I was just awestruck and the only thing that came out of my mouth was, "WOW". Are you guys going on the Skywalk? I usually have no problem with heights, but I'm not too sure I could walk out on that thing.

I haven't seen the Hoover Dam yet. That's always been on my list.

Love the Indy pics. Is that the guitar that the Idols signed to be auctioned?

I'm glad you're able to include pics. Looking forward to more.

Have fun!

Hi Luke and Lara! What great pics! I love the two of Lara and you. I hope you are enjoying your trip. I have been out West, but never to the Grand Canyon. I've always wanted to go. It looks like they are still working on the road by the dam. I was there two years ago. They have really come a long way. Enjoy your trip. Tell Lara I will see her next week at Southmont. Thanks for sharing pictures with us!

I love the close up of you and your wife!

The Grand Canyon is looks gorgeous! I have not been to the Grand Canyon, but I've been lucky enough to fly over it. And while I'm sure that doesn't even compare to actually being there, it was still amazing to see. I took a few pictures from the airplane window, but it doesn't do it justice.

I'm glad you are enjoying your trip across the country!

Wishing you all the best,
Kaitlin

It is dinner time and the pic with David Cook has made me hungry.

I am praying for God's grace to cover you and for Him to continually refresh You with His Presence.

I have been taking care of 2 sick elderly relatives and, a few weeks ago, His grace and tangible presence really kicked in.

Luke and Lara, I too can remember my first trip to see the Grand Canyon and my awe at seeing what God had left for us.

May God bless you as you fight this cancer and for speaking out to others about him.

I was at the idol tour in Indianapolis and tried to find you, but never could see you from where we sat.

Am thankful there are other Christians, like Clay, Jordan, Ruben, yoursel and Chris Sligh who have been able to get their message about God out to other young people who watch the show.

Were you here in Indy for Kenny Chesney's show? Someone said there was a Luke singing but couldn't remember his last name.
