3 down

3 chemo treatments down and 9 to go. I finished round 3 yesterday and it was a very busy day. The morning started with me waking up later than I had planned. I was supposed to be at the Fox studio at 8am and I didn't wake up until 7:25am. It was a 40 minute drive so I was afraid I would miss my spot. Thankfully not many police officers were patrolling the highway so I sped at about 85 miles per hour and made it just before I was to be on TV.
I then made the trip back to Crawfordsville to receive my third chemo. It didn't go as well as the first two but I made it through.
My day ended with me attending dairy-licous ice cream store to watch and meet the many people that turned out for our fund raiser. The store sold 2,809 milk shakes on our behalf. A big thank you to all the people that turned out!
I would also like to personally thank the people that sent gas gift cards to our P.O box. I will be taking another trip to Nashville on Monday and will spend the whole week there co-writing more songs and recording. Your gifts came at the perfect time.
God is good!
Have a great 4th of July.

Glad you made it through round 3, and you will continue to make it through the subsequent rounds with flying colors.... because you have more than modern medicine on your side ;)
I'll continue praying for you and your family. I also pray that you will have great success in the studio this coming week, and that God will direct your words.
Take care.

Sorry to hear that Round 3 didn't go as smooth, but with your strength & strong will you toughed it out and you'll be ready for Round 4! You're already a quarter of the way there!

Hopefully, you'll be able to rest this weekend before you head out to Nashville on Monday.

We're keeping you & your entire family in our prayers.

Luke-
I am glad you are done with your third treatment-my mom went through chemo 2 years ago. The treatments for her were scary and rough at times as I am sure they are for you. Please know I am praying harder then ever for you and your family. Also I am glad you got the gas cards-I wasn't sure which one to send but I figure they have Bp's about everywhere so I hope it helps. Hang in there-Take Care-Myty

I'm so sorry to hear that your treatment was rough this time around. It sounds like you had a really busy day even without the chemo treatment...praying for amazing, and restoring, rest to come when you sleep.

Some of the people over at DayDreamingBoy.com have asked about larger fund raisers for you, ie. spaghetti dinners, raffles, auctions, anything like that. If there are any coming up, we'd love to post over there for you too.

Also, some people have asked about just sending money rather than gas cards, so that you can use it for anything that you need, rather than just gas. I know we've set up special PayPal accounts in the past just for this purpose. If you have one, and want to let us know what it is, we can get some funds in there for you too! :)

Thanks again for sharing your journey. You are both being prayed for...

Luke,
I hope you are feeling well and that you were able to enjoy some fireworks on the 4th. My husband and I stopped and got some shakes after work and we were happy to be able to help in a small way.

May Cod bless you every day,
Jenny, Brad, & Anna

Dear Luke, I've just found your magic blogspot! Tell Lara it was great talking to her the other day...I'm pumped for showchoir camp! I hope she is too. I'm sure we'll have many interesting stories...hopefully none that involve the emergency room this year!

Sounds like all is going well for you. May I add, I especially enjoyed your story about a bat and also the Amish story. If you combined those, you'd have a motorcycle, Amish kids, and a bat...now there are the ingredients for a good story.

Take care! I'll keep reading your blog to see how you are and read more stories!

Hey Luke! Just wanted you to know that you're still in our thoughts and prayers. I'm glad I found this blog link on the C6 website. We've been wondering about how things were going.

Luke, I just saw the link to this post on daydreaming boy. I want you to know that we have been keeping you and your family in our prayers. Also a group of us who pray (fans of JC, DC, and a couple of people from the agape prayer ministry in Nashville) have joined together. We have a website - pointofprayer.com. We are currently focusing our prayers on the AI tour. We will post some prayers for you. We are able to take prayer requests publicly on the forum or privately on a request form. We welcome all prayer requests. We would love to pray more specifically for the people behind the scenes of AI and their families. Jason, and Kristy Lee Cook know about us. Hopefully news of us will spread by word of mouth to those who are in need of prayer. I am trusting God to help us find a way to "get out the word." We opened the site a week and a half ago...not a vey good time to try to contact Christians on AI tour. If you get the opportunity, I would be grateful if you could pass this along to Chris Sligh. May God bless you and your family. Dawn (dawnd1)

I just want to say good luck and kick this monster's REAR!

2 years ago come 8/1 I was in your shoes.

I was 29 and diagnosed with NSHD IIA Hodgkin's.

6 months of chemo and 18 days of radiation later. I was free from the beast.

My hope is this is your first and last fight with "the monster" as I call it.

Not sure what sub-type you have but many of us get cured the first time.

Remember this! But also remember to listen to your body.

It is my time to battle the monster again. But possitive thoughts and stubborness gets you a long way in the fight with the monster.

Lots of possitive thinking from

Luke,
I am 34 and am in my first year of remission from Stage II Hodgkins. My friend from the same hometown is in her 2nd year of remission. It's crazy. You never think that it will happen to you. Did you get a port for chemo? It sure makes it nice not to have to get an pic line every time.
I have read the two Lance Armstrong books and have found them to be so inspirational. I found the hardest part was after chemo and radiation but it gets better every day!!
God Bless, Vickie
