Round 6

Just returned today from Branson, MO. Lara and I were able to enjoy a great trip there with 20 other Menards. Every summer the Menards take a week long trip to Branson and last week was the week. My dad is the oldest of 14 so we have some fun trips together. I spend alot of time fishing with my cousins, eating lots of food and staying up late laughing with our family. It was a great week. Now it's back to reality and round 6 chemo tomorrow. On Sunday I will be leaving town again and spending a few days in Nashville. I will be co-writing again with Chris Sligh and Jason Walker as well as meeting with my manager and two different record labels. Focusing on these great blessings is what gets me through chemo.
After tomorrow I will be halfway done with chemo and I still have my hair!! Thanks for all the kind words that you all give me during these crazy days in my life. It is amazing how many people really do care. I know this is all happening for a reason and I trust in the Lord every day. However, I can't wait for it to be over so I can be back on the road singing and spreading love through music. Halfway done!

I'm glad you had fun! I'm also glad you're halfway through with chemo, you're very strong for doing all of the things you do.

I wish my family had big get-togethers. I went to Branson with a friend, though, and I know how much fun it can be. Awesome music.

Good luck with your music, too, and your chemo. I'm sure everyone's looking forward to a CD. :]

Best wishes.

Spending time with family like that is always something precious, and can be a lot of fun, so I'm very glad you enjoyed yourself!

Good luck with the chemo, and congratulations on being halfway through! I'll bet that's a great relief, and here's to hoping the rest go by faster than you know!

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, as always!

Oldest of 14???? I thought I was busy with 4!!! I can't imagine 10 more...YIKES!!!

I'm so glad you are half-way through! Yea!!! I am praying and praying that when you are through, you are through for good!

Any chance we'll get to hear a demo of the first song you did with Chris Sligh? I'm totally loving his new album, and am so looking forward to yours, but waiting is not my strong suit! :)

Praying for you...

My mom is from a family of 11 kids, so I can relate to the large reunions. (Though after a full week of my cousins, I'd likely be throwing them into that lake!) Glad you & Lara had fun.

Good luck with Round 6 and congrats on reaching the half-way point! YAY! I had to giggle at your comment about your hair. :-)

I read that you'll be performing with Chapter 6 at the next show before they hit the road! Fantastic! I recently purchased the DVD and I think I'm wearing it out because I love it so much.

Hope you have fun & productive days in Nashville. Through (likely bootleg) videos from your benefit concert, I've heard a couple of your new songs. Luke, they're great and I can't wait to hear more.

So, get lots of rest over the next few days & have a good trip. Drive safe - we worry about you with these long drives.

Continued Blessings
- CK

Hi Luke, I'm so glad you had a good time with your family members in Branson, Mo. I will be thinking of you as you go through another chemo session, yes, half way there, and as you know I am always praying for you. Then-- you will be writing again-- this is terrific. You appear to be a great writer as you write your posts here on your blog. I can't wait until you release your first cd. Remember, I am thinking and praying for you and your family continually. All my Love, Prayers, Success ... Love, twotwo

Wow! I knew you had a big family, but I didn't realize it was that big!! I'm glad you had a good time! I've never been to Branson, but I hear it's really fun.

Hooray for Half-way! Hopefully this round will be easy for you and you'll bounce back very quickly! And I can't wait to hear the new music! We weren't able to go to your concert (sold out!), but we were praying for you and your family that night. I heard Bekah was amazing as always!

Praying for you,
Valerie (Kincaid) Leonard

all right now, halfway there!

you know we're out here carrying you in our prayers, man. every day. i am not exactly sure how that works. know it DOES, somehow. you just remember when those drugs are in you and you're feeling like cr*p -- we've got your back. and they're killin' what needs to be killed. and your own good cells are gonna do a good work, and all will yet be well.

God is turning you into the person He needs you to be. Who knows what good things will come out of this painful gift? Not just for you, but for those whose lives you're destined to touch?

You just keep your head screwed on tight and your eyes focused on the Guy who's running the show. Great things to come. I know you feel it too.

Go safely, be productive, catch you later!

Luke! Thanks for keeping old friends updated with your blog. You are in my thoughts often. Too bad I moved from Nashville right before you started spending so much time there! I bet you've been hanging out with Michael B., though. Glad to hear you had a great annual Branson trip!

Thinking of you as you continue to fight this battle and work toward your new career in Nashville,

Heather (Chastain) Parker

A Bransonaphile? Welcome to the club! We live about 3 1/2 hours south in central AR and it is the place we go when we want to get away for a quick fun weekend.

I'm a Chris Sligh fan and so glad to hear that you and he are writing together. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Chris this past year, and got to hear Chris and Jason in concert in Nashville last month. I know it is a blessing to you to be working with these two gentlemen.

Prayers for you for healing going up.

Take care, Risa
