busy Christmas and new year

I know I haven't blogged in a while. I have been super busy with radiation every day, 2 trips to the ER, and 3 trips to Illinois in between radiation to visit with family for the holidays. It's been a little too much.
Only 2 raditation treatmets left. Tuesday will be my last day of radiation. I have become so used to driving 2 hours a day for radiation and I don't know what I will do with myself when it's all finished. I haven't had much time away from medical professionals in about 8 months. It's almost like I am about to be released from the prison of cancer.
I am with Lara at her parents house so I should stop blogging and spend time with them. We are opening Christmas presents tonight with the Moffetts.
God is good and we are thankful for our trials.
Happy New Year!

Merry late Christmas and hope that you have an awesome 2009, Luke! You deserve a great year, after all you've been there, and there's no doubt in my mind you'll make the best of all of it.

I finally listened to a bunch of Chapter 6 songs this holiday break - awesome music. You guys are the best, definitely.

Lots of love and the best of luck with everything!

Hi Luke. Sorry to hear that you had a couple of ER visits to deal with. Hope they weren't too bad.

You've got a wonderful finish-line up ahead of you! From then on out, it's recovery & monitoring. You're almost there, Luke! I'll say extra prayers for you on Tuesday for an easy recovery period.

Enjoy your time with your family. May God bless you, Lara, and both your families & friends.

Buddy, what are you doin' in the ER??? Geesh, we just can't leave ya alone for a minute and you go getting yourself into trouble.... sigh.

Just poking you man. So glad the rad is almost done, but... wow, take it easy for a while, huh? I mean... REST, when all that driving is done. Fluids, broccoli, green tea. Oh, yeah, also smoothies. I know there's a lot you want to do this year when you get cut loose from the docs.... just... pace yourself, OK?

There is time.

Have a great weekend. You know our prayers are steadfast. hang in there.

Hi Luke, Happy New Year to you! I pray you stay out of the hospital for quite a long time, I can only imagine how tiring those radiation treatments are. I pray you have a wonderful 2009!
Love,
Carry

As one survivor to another, you're doing great! Word of advise, my friend, is to try not to schedule anything too heavy for January. I actually felt worse about a week or so AFTER my rads were over and it lasted for a couple of weeks. (Frankly, I was happy for the fatigue because sleeping kept my mind off the sore throat!)

Hang in there, bro. It may take a while before your energy comes back, but it will. It's almost over.

Hey Luke, Thanks for the update, I'm glad you're at the end of your treatments. Hoping (and praying)that all continues to improve for you,

Don't push yourself too hard - allow time to build yourself back up - And stay out of the ER(if you possibly can), for heaven's sake!

Happy (and healthy) New Year to you!

OH, Luke, So sorry about the ER. Radiation has its problems as well I guess. BUT, ALMOST OVER. Yeah God. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. It was good to meet you and Lara in Plymouth. Wishing you both all the best in the new year.
